How to increase your chances of normal delivery : tips and tricks

Pregnancy is a beautiful journey towards motherhood . Every healthy pregnancy will end up with one being blessed with a little bundle of joy …your very own baby! Your positive attitude and the supervision of an expert doctor will help you sail through the journey easily .

Here are some tips that will help you have a normal delivery:

Nutrition: Nutrition is a very big determinant of how your pregnancy will progress and for the growth of the baby . In fact what you eat most of the times is responsible for development of complications of pregnancy (both for mother and baby).If you eat right according to the food pyramid then your baby will grow at an adequate rate and you will not become obese. If the pregnancy is uncomplicated (no obesity/ hypertension/ diabetes/IUGR etc.), naturally the chances of normal delivery increase.

Maintaining adequate hydration 10-12 glasses of water daily is equally important. Along with this adequate sleep of 6 to 8 hours is necessary.

Exercise will prevent you from becoming overweight ,it will keep your joints from becoming stiff. Initially you  can just start with walks and gradually take the help of the doctor in learning other exercises  Breathing exercises and Kegel’s exercise especially will help you cope up better with labour pains. Meditation and yoga work wonders for the mind .

 A positive outlook that “you can do it “is very important : Stay away from negative people and gossips. Be around encouraging people .Talk and clear all your doubts with your doctor during your antenatal visits.

The doctor can encourage, guide  and work hard for you but its you who has to ultimately take the labour pains so being mentally strong and being prepared for it is the “Mantra” for normal delivery.
